Park Bo-gum Praised for Covering Staff Mistake During “When Life Gives You Tangerines” Shoot

Once again, Park Bo-gum proves why he’s known for his kind personality. While filming the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines, lead actor Park Bo-gum reportedly covered up a staff member’s mistake, adding another heartwarming story to his long list of positive anecdotes.

On April 19, a space designer identified as A, who worked on the set of the series, shared a behind-the-scenes story through their YouTube channel. A recalled, “Watching Gwan-sik (Park Bo-gum’s character) reminded me of something only the art team knows. During a particularly hectic shoot, I accidentally left my iPad in the jar next to Gwan-sik and we filmed the entire scene like that.”
Despite the scene receiving the director’s OK sign, Park Bo-gum noticed the out-of-place iPad. Rather than pointing fingers, he went to the director and said, “I think my acting was a bit off. Could we check the monitor one more time?’ He made it sound like it was his own mistake just to cover for me.”
A continued, “Then he handed me the iPad and winked, saying, ‘It didn’t get caught, don’t worry.’ The three of us from the art team who saw that, two guys and me, still haven’t recovered.”

Since When Life Gives You Tangerines is a period drama set in Jeju Island, the presence of a modern device like an iPad would have been a glaring anachronism. Park Bo-gum’s discreet and witty intervention avoided potential issues while uplifting the morale of the team.
Widely regarded as one of the most well-mannered and thoughtful celebrities in Korean entertainment, Park Bo-gum continues to receive praise not only from co-stars but also from staff who have worked with him. This incident is just one of many that highlight his sincere personality and professionalism.
